I would assume (barring epic forethought failure), that eventually we would "re-discover" the EotN, being 250 years in the future, as a sort of Ascension found in Prophecies, etc etc. Therefore it is something to achieve, because I know damn well Aerian Skybane doesn't want his whippersnapper great-great-great-great-great-grandson who's just out of camp to feel entitled to all his hard worked stuff lol.
I am quite sure an element of discovery will be added to ensure that the E-preen is at least delayed a little while. One thing I have thought of though, if all our characters are human in GW1, then if I start a Charr char in GW2... how the hell am I a decendant of Aerian Skybane......

4. Crazy hair.
5. Maybe a tattoo.

I'm hoping for something similar to bonus weapons. I dunno what else would be fair and practical. Maybe a title. Something like "Decendent of the Tyrian Necromancer Hero Vala Of The Fens". It wouldn't do anything but it would look cool. *lol* HoM should have more than one reward. It takes alot of grind and money to make a decent HoM and it would suck to get something dumb. I bet ANet wishes they never made HoM. At least they're honest enough to tell us that that don't know what they're doing with it.

And also, I don't want to have to use the same name. Since this is supposedly taking place 100 or so years in the future I don't think we should have to.
|

you can use any name you want.
the GW1 name is reserved for you to prevent someone else from grabbing a popular name.
the graphics engine/artwork will be (as stated) different so no to the armor as it wont translate and what good will level 20 starter armor do you in a level 100+ game?
they stated everything in the HOM will unlock a skill/minipet/weapon/etc in GW2 but it will not give any playing advantage over a new player.and it is character based so no you will have to choose a single gw2 character to receive the inheritance for each GW1 HOM

I want to be able to wield my FDS in GW2.
But that means I'd have to be able to put it in the HoM in GW1.

I want GW2 to be fresh almost nothing to do with GW1 except story history. GW2 should be all new improved PvE and PvP.

yes i want this so much. i dont want to make a ranger in gw2 and not get anythign for grinding on my war, who has all the titles.

Personally, I don't really care what I get from the HoM in GW2. I've been filling my HoM simply because I enjoy it, and it gives me something to keep playing for. The things my character will inherit will just be a bonus. Anyway, what I expect would be the titles to directly translate, and possibly the minipets as well. Otherwise, I'd expect unique skins, nice unique hairstyles, and other purely cosmetic things.
The one thing I'm worried about is the fact that you can only display a certain number of things in each monument. I hope they don't decide that only the monuments you have on display will translate into something in GW2. I doubt they will, since you can't rearrange the monuments to your satisfaction at the moment, but the fact that there's a huge difference between the number of monuments for the armour one, depending on which class you choose, makes me wonder how they will handle that, if at all.

I was supportive of the original idea of GW2 being a "fresh start". The HoM concept sullies that - it panders to the "I want to keep my stuff" crowd, and will end up just annoying everyone for not giving enough or giving too much.
I therefore expect to dislike anything the HoM does, unless it's very well hidden. I really don't want to see people showing off their GW1 junk, as soon as GW2 goes live. Since there has to be a HoM, I'd like it to only enable the display of items while inside it. I'd also like the HoM to not even appear in my game unless I specifically want it (i.e. not forced to keep going there, like in GW:EN).

Heres ur answer lol.
1. You add the gw 2 key to ur gw 1 acct.
2. On ur gw2 acct u create what u want with ANY name u havent used before to see if u like it.
3. You delete that character u just made and make it agian with the name of the character u want to copy.
4.Play gw 2
This is from the Gw2 edition of pc gamer ^^.
Hope i get my scythe agian >>, and something for grinding fow 5hrs for the statue.

The 30 odd titles on my necro can go to waste, my rare mini pets and all sets of armour can go, I honestly dont care so long as I get to keep the tiger ( hopefully pheonix by then )

I hope that Minipets carry over so I can use them in GW2 and I think that the rest will be little things as in titles etc. They will be mroe of a 'proof I was there' than a 'OMFG LOOK AT MY SWORD IT DOES DOUBLE THE DAMMAGE YOURS DOES!

God, no. No, no, no.
HoM would be a pretty lame investment for anyone if all of our GW2 rewards became things that anyone could get later in the game. I do believe that the point of transferring something from GW to GW2 was to have unique proof that you had ancestors. I certainly don't see it as giving us items that anyone without GW can get.
"My ancestors are gods, so I have 60 moar golds than j00!"
Ouch.
